The bridge in Bath will be fully closed for three months from June 28th. Wiltshire Council and Bath Council are not co-operating on diversion routes. WC is though putting up signage, the main purpose of which is to discourage drivers from going through Bradford on Avon. No consideration has been given to other communities they may end up going through.

For our area this could be partly positive, as some traffic will be diverted on to the A350 Chippenham – Trowbridge route, and partly negative, as other traffic is diverted through Staverton and Atworth.

Or it may be that people won’t take much notice of the signs anyway. I’m hoping to do some traffic measurements to see if there are noticeable differences in our villages.
