Bath Clean Air Zone Update

by trevorcarbin on 25 October, 2018

Bath and NE Somerset Council have confirmed their intention to charge for some cars and lorries to enter the city.

Older, more polluting cars and lorries would either have to pay a fee or find another route.

With the fee at £9 for private cars and £100 for HGVs there’s a strong incentive for people to use other roads, though people who regularly drive into Bath will have an incentive to switch to a cleaner vehicle.

Here is a preliminary list of potential impacts on our area:

A363 Sally in the Woods to Monkton Farleigh – more traffic could mean further problems for the unstable road.

A363 Villa junction – more difficulty for drivers emerging from the Monkton Farleigh road.

Bradford on Avon – More people driving into town to get a train to Bath, potential parking problems.

Staverton B3105 – More HGV through traffic switching from A46-A36 route to A363 – B3105 – A350. Increased congestion through the village.
