As it’s grade 2 listed Wiltshire Council has had to apply to itself for planning permission to carry out repairs and maintenance to the bridge.  A similar application was made in 2007, but the works were not done.  Although inspections have shown no great deterioration since then, WC has decided to have another go.

The works will be done on the upstream side where the stonework has suffered from weathering – the downstream side is in good condition.

Assuming planning permission is granted the work will be done in the next financial year.
